Since 2021, we have been co-designing, co-curating and producing various creative projects centered around positive narratives that provide an unheard/unspoken vantage point. Our ethos is focusing on narratives that uplift the community and/or provide access to information, resources and/or perspectives that contribute to improved psycho-social wellbeing.

    MJ The Musical Australia (2025 - present)

    Assisting Michael Cassel Group with the recruitment of back-of-house roles (hairdressers, barbers, chaperones) and talent sourcing for the casting of Young MJ/Young Marlon roles.

  • Pasa Faho World Premiere - MIFF (2025)

    In collaboration with Ten Days Film and on behalf of Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF), marketed the screenings of the world premiere of Pasa Faho at the Festival. Pasa Faho is a heartfelt film about a Nigerian father and son finding (re)connection in a rarely seen side of Melbourne. All three screenings were sold outbefore the Festival commenced and was the first title to sell out all screenings. Consulted on the pre- and post-event activities for the premiere night.

    Amari Gala (2023 - present)

    In collaboration with African Youth Alliance and Riddim Inc, Safe Space Media is the Chief Curator of the infamous Amari Gala. Amari is a platform that exists to celebrate the excellent achievements of the young Black Diaspora in Australia. Spanning from creatives in the content creation, videography, and photography industry to MCs, presenters, athletes, musical, visual, and performing artists, to entrepreneurs and African professionals in business, STEM, and community-centred organisations. The Amari Gala is more than just an awards night; it's a vibrant celebration of culture, excellence, and community spirit. Since its inception, our mission has been to honour outstanding achievements within our diverse community while providing an unparalleled platform for networking, entertainment, and cultural immersion. The Amari Gala attracts a dynamic and influential audience, offering sponsors unparalleled visibility and engagement opportunities.

    Night at the Theatre with Tina (2025)

    In collaboration with Effie Nkrumah, Pola Practice, Nguvu Moja and Ruva Ngwenya for TegDainty,  Night at the Theatre with Tina - The Tina the Musical was an exclusive event designed to strengthen connection with Australia’s vibrant and diverse Black Diaspora communities and the enchanting world of live theatre, fostering cultural exchange and shared appreciation. The evening curation included exclusive red carpet experience for community members, curated conversation starters to spark conversation about the themes highlighted by the play, and an exclusive Q&A session with the cast of Tina The Musical Australia. The event managed to garner national press attention through ABC.

    VIC African Australian Student Conference (2023 - Present)

    In collaboration with Incubate Foundation and African Youth Alliance and on behalf of the VIC Department of Education, the African Australian Student Conference (AASC) is a yearly event for Year 7 - 12 students of VIC schools in Metro and Regional Melbourne. The Conference is funded through the VACAP Initiative. AASC aims to address the high school dropout rate of students of African heritage in the public school system by curating an immersive conference that equips them with social and practical skills to co-create a meaningful future. The Conference aims to break the imagination ceiling of students by providing them access to representative mentors and role models that look like them in unconventional careers and giving them tangible tools and strategies on how they can reimagine their future prospects. The conference also aims to provide peer mentoring support by uniting students of African heritage from different locales for collective social engagement.

    Sony Pictures Movie Screening (Ongoing)

    In collaboration with Sony Pictures Releasing Australia, we provide preview screening to our subscribers for upcoming box office titles that resonate with our target group. Screening feedback from the previews provide Sony Pictures with relevant data from a diverse audience to enhance their Australian marketing campaigns for the movie titles. Previews typically entail a red carpet and/or media wall, and complimentary snacks and beverages. Titles collaborated to date include;

    Lonely At the Top - SXSW Sydney (2024)

    Lonely at the Top - Women in Executive Leadership was a panel discussion session at the 2024 edition of SXSW Sydney. The session was a curious exploration to illuminate the personal journeys of women who persisted, despite the barriers, to elevate to their top jobs. Insights were shared by female leaders of diverse backgrounds, who recounted their journeys and strategies for managing to buck the trend, as well as what it is really like being at the top. Panelists were trailblazers Ursula Dyer Lepporoli, a KPMG partner and Tax Influencer, Shirley Chowdhary, a Chair, Non Executive Director and was recognised as AFR’s 100 Women of Influence, and Marina Go AM, an experienced chair and non-executive director of ASX listed, private and not-for-profit organisations, across a range of sectors including energy, infrastructure, technology, retail and sport.

    Black Diasporas Naarm-Melbourne (2022)

    The Black Diasporas mapping project documents the experiences of African-Australian individuals and the spaces and places that have meaning to them. The project manifests as a geolocated digital archive of interviews of African-Australian people, defined in this project as including people of African ancestry. In collaboration with AfroUrban Art, Sandra Githinji and Kalu Oji, Black Diasporas Naarm-Melbourne was completed in 2022, with a physical exhibit at the No Vacancy Gallery. In addition to Talent Sourcing for the project, Safe Space Media curated a panel discussion for one of the evenings through the Can We Talk About It?! Podcast platform.

    Can We Talk About It?! Podcast (2021 - Present)

    Can We Talk About It? Podcast is a platform that discusses psychosocial issues affecting the African Australian communities by inviting subject matter experts or community members with lived experiences to share knowledge and collective solutions. Launched in 2021, available on all audio platforms.

    Premiere of Netflix production: Jiva! (2021)

    Co-curated the launch of the Melbourne exclusive premiere of the Netflix Africa Original series JIVA! on behalf of Director, Scottnes L. Smith in St Kilda, Melbourne. JIVA! is a fun and energy-packed drama series that follows the life of the talented street dancer Ntombi, who while juggling the demands of a dead end job, family responsibility and a rocky love life realises that her dance moves could be her ticket out of her working class neighbourhood in Durban. But first, she must overcome her fears, beat her rivals and sort out the chaos that is her family.
